UR5e puck demo with a tray we do not receive

UR5e supplier expects us to refill its dedicated tray first. Other offer starts from the incoming one.

Who currently handles the pucks before that incoming tray reaches the station, Maya? I would include any preparation your present flow already needs, not give the baseline a free start.

Could the dedicated tray replace the incoming tray earlier in the process, or would it definitely add a transfer? That might change whether its preparation is extra work or just moved work

Incoming trays come from an outside process. We cannot change that supply. Dedicated tray means another transfer here.

Then show that transfer and empty-tray clearing in the UR5e offer; I would still let it demonstrate the complete proposed route rather than reject it from the extra step alone.

And involve the person who would do that re-traying in the comparison. The added work may be manageable, but the demo operator should not be the only person deciding that.

Our operator is joining both trials. Same retained puck set and incoming-tray types agreed. Preparation is inside the timed boundary.

Yes, changeover and clearing included. No free dedicated-tray refill hiding between timed runs.

Both complete trials finished. Both transferred the agreed pucks, but our operator's extra re-traying outweighed the UR5e option's faster handling. Other option had simpler changeovers too. We're comparing the final complete prices now.

Selected the offer using our incoming trays. Whole-job cost and operator work fit us better. This comparison doesn't say one arm is generally better; the preparation difference decided this job.
