What should we measure before choosing Fairino FR5?

Our proposed use for Fairino FR5 is finished blank removal with a cylindrical aluminum blank in a compact machining workshop, with 57 planned. The reach sketch suggests the fixture is accessible, but it includes neither the gripper body nor the open machine door. I need a fuller access check to inform our choice of arm.

@OscarBell0619 Got measured outlines for the opening and gripper? An offline layout might catch what the reach circle misses.

@BethBrooks0846 After comparing the outlines, I found that the proposed approach overlaps the door handle even though the workpiece itself clears. That explains the misleadingly comfortable result in my initial sketch.

@OscarBell0619 Use that measured layout to review the complete approach and retreat offline. Include the tool, cables and service access, then ask the integrator to assess a revised mounting arrangement.

I've decided to base our arm selection on a measured access review. A workable layout for the complete tool and a qualified assessment will be conditions of choosing the arm.

@OscarBell0619 That puts the access question in the right place in the decision. A conditional selection fits the limits of the sketch.
