I've added our gripper to the proposed FR5 loading layout and the hose fitting now occupies the door handle's space; apparently the polymer blank was the easy bit.

Can the toolmaker show the actual fittings before anyone pays to move the base, or are you working from a rough block?

Actual fitting envelope from the toolmaker, though the flexible hose route is still missing (another thing on my list).

Then ask whether they've got another supported fitting arrangement, I mean one they'll supply and stand behind, not something you bodge after delivery

They can review a rear exit, but it puts the hose near the fixture on approach, so we're waiting for that drawing before celebrating.

Would be useful to see both options together, otherwise you spend the meeting remembering where the previous collision was

I'd ask how you change that fitting once the tool is assembled. We had a neat tucked-away connection that needed the fingers removed to get a spanner onto it. Fine until it wasn't.

Isaac, did you end up changing the tool or just living with the dismantling?

A hose route needs its bend allowance, not just a line between two fittings.

Thanks Zara, the new drawing includes that allowance; rear exit still catches the fixture, so the toolmaker is considering another adapter instead.

Oliver, we lived with it for that job and specified better access on the replacement. Would have been cheaper to ask before the first one was made.

I've added fitting access to the adapter review as well, Isaac; no choice agreed yet, but at least it won't arrive as a surprise maintenance puzzle.
