I'm comparing loading proposals and the quicker FR10 clip uses a new tray with generous pocket spacing, while the other supplier used our current tray; I'd like to compare the full arrangements before choosing, including what it takes to prepare and change those trays.
Would the new tray fit your existing handling and storage, Caleb? It may be a good change, but I'd want to know whether you're buying trays or quietly rebuilding the whole loop.
Then price the storage change alongside the tray. Don't reject it just for being new, but don't hide the rack because it isn't exciting robot kit either.
I would ask the FR10 supplier for a current-tray option as well. Or at least a clear reason they don't recommend one. Easy to win a comparison by putting the expensive awkward bit in the customer's column.
How many of the wider trays do you need circulating, including any held for checks or cleaning? Initial quantity has a way of meaning enough for the demonstration and no more.
Jonas, stores is working out the circulating quantity; Sofia, our operator wants a filled sample before deciding on handling, so I have requested one rather than assuming the empty tray tells us enough.
Current-tray option is now offered at a slower cycle, with no rack change; the wider-tray proposal still needs its full stock and storage cost, so neither has won.
The filled sample arrived and our operator prefers sliding it onto a support rather than carrying it; supplier is reviewing that arrangement, and replenishment and recovery demonstrations are still pending.
