I'm helping with an FR5 inspection bench and our ordinary job request sometimes vanishes before the application reads it. The PLC trace shows it, application log doesn't.
I suggested holding it until acknowledgement and got asked who clears the acknowledgement. Fair question. We have a sketch with arrows and no owners. Is a signal ownership table where I should start? This is job coordination; our safety system is separate
Can I hold the request until somebody actually sees it?

Yes. Give each signal one writer and describe the conditions for setting and clearing it. Walk through one job, a timeout and a reconnect on paper. Holding a request helps only if both sides agree when that request has been accepted and when a new one may begin.
