Write down the tray differences first. You might already have enough information to explain why the clips cannot rank the arms, before asking anyone to film again.

The tidy tray and our awkward tray make different sales pitches

And compare complete handling proposals. Requiring identical hardware would be the wrong kind of fairness. Different tools can be legitimate, but they must cope with the same agreed input conditions and acceptance requirements.
10分Lucy, yes, though a supplier may propose changing the tray itself. Louis needs to know whether that change is allowed and what it costs, rather than simply excluding a potentially useful proposal.
14分Include whoever prepares and replenishes the trays in that decision. A tidier input may be practical, but the work needed to create it has to belong somewhere in the proposal.
3分Tray changes are possible. I'd missed the preparation labour in the tidy-tray option.
17分Then Nina's qualification applies. Agree the required output and incoming caps, permit declared tray changes, and assess the whole method. My same-input point was too compressed if it sounded like the current tray must be sacred.
7分How much of either clip includes replenishment? The clean middle of a run often gets all the attention.
4分Neither shows it. Only loaded trays and successful moves, which explains some of my uncertainty.
-1分Request a demonstration scope that includes preparation, replenishment and the handling you need to assess. Ask suppliers to declare assistance and interventions. You can still value a good clip while recognising the work it leaves unobserved.
12分Who will run the proposed process after handover? That person's expected skill and support access should be part of the comparison, especially if tray preparation needs judgement.
16分Count rejects and recovery time too, with agreed definitions. A supplier should not improve the apparent result by silently removing awkward caps before the timed portion begins.
1分Thanks, Jamie. I've added normal operator preparation and support to the common brief.
18分Before requesting dates, get both suppliers to say which parts of that brief they can demonstrate. An agreed omission is still an omission, but at least it won't surprise you afterward.
14分Brief sent. No revised tests back yet, and I'm leaving the shortlist unranked.
10分Does the brief let you record a proposed tray change as a separate costed option? That would preserve the potentially useful idea without treating the tidy tray in the old video as free preparation.
