Why did the FR5 vacuum demo avoid every seam our cartons have?

I'm reviewing a vacuum pickup proposal for packed cartons and the supplier's FR5 demonstration used a smooth blank box, while our cartons have a taped centre seam, printed areas and mixed board surfaces; what representative holding, separation and release checks should I ask them to assess before we accept the concept?
