The bezel mark disappears in our supplier's photograph

I sent a polished bezel with a faint grip line to the tool supplier. Their return photo makes it look spotless, but our inspector can still find the line on the actual part. We're considering softer pads for the FR10 transfer. What viewing conditions have people agreed before comparing pads, so holding and release don't get lost behind an argument about photographs?
