Leave the others unknown, then. Don't sort them by which values look plausible.

The improvement claim is a note in the project summary, with no linked test; the operator who made the change has left.

Then mark the claim unverified in your review.

Don't throw the whole folder away though. We had old setup photos that showed a support had moved, even when the inspection sheets were hopeless. Anything identifying what changed could still help the fixture designer.

Are the photos tied to fixture revisions?

Ours were tied to a work order. No neat revision history, sadly. We could at least show which job used which support position.

I found photographs with work-order references, but none records when the correction was introduced; they show the existing arrangement more clearly than the drawing does.

Does the current drawing even match the fixture, then? I'd sort that out before comparing its supposed performance.

One support differs, so the designer will survey the fixture and review its contacts against the part drawing; the old performance claim remains unverified.

Who will define the new released-part inspection?

Our quality lead, working with the fixture designer; incoming fit-up, clamped checks and final released dimensions will be recorded separately in the proposed trial.

That should make the next review less of an excavation.
