Longer fingers might get our FR10 concept past the mill door, but I'm not convinced we've solved anything. This is for a teaching workshop, taking finished blanks out of a vice. Has anyone had a layout improve at the fingers and get worse everywhere else?

Yes. Extra offset cleared our doorway and made the withdrawal sweep larger; the doorway was only the first obstacle.
12分That's roughly my worry. Our designer has moved the tool tip in the drawing but kept the old outline behind it. I'll get the complete assembly added.
13分Include the held blank, cable routing and applicable tool-loading checks; longer fingers are a tooling change, not a drawing correction.

11分Foamboard is useful for exclusion; passing that check does not establish a feasible robot path.
8分The mock-up caught another snag today: our collection tray occupies the proposed exit space. That tray position was inherited from manual loading. We're reconsidering it before the next layout review.
9分Who refills or removes the tray? Relocating it may simply transfer the obstruction to the operator.
