I'm comparing UR5e carton-filling quotes. One includes a feeder, the other assumes trays we replenish. How do I include our own work without pretending I know the timings yet?
Ask the packing person to walk you through replenishment and changeover. You can put observed work beside the supplier assumptions, then mark what still needs a trial. I wouldn't give that labour a neat hourly figure before seeing the job.
That could be a substantial bit of the job. Does either proposal change how the inserts get prepared, or are both quietly starting after she's done them?
Include who covers her regular work during that training too. We've found a day's supplier visit can take several people's time even when the quote only has one day on it.
That's a better basis for comparing them. I'd still keep the untested replenishment timing visible as an assumption, so it doesn't quietly become a promised saving when the sheet gets forwarded.
