Why are we ranking robots when the sleeve trays do different jobs?

The UR5e demo unloads bearing sleeves into a dedicated tray. The other candidate uses our workshop tray, with its awkward pockets. Both clips look decent, but the dedicated tray has to go somewhere after the robot fills it. I want that exchange and the shared bench setup in the comparison before we choose. Otherwise we're awarding points for a tray that somebody else has to empty.

Follow one full tray out of each demo. Who moves it, empties it and brings the next one back? That's where your two offers may stop being comparable.

Our assembly person would empty the dedicated tray into the workshop tray. The second supplier says it avoids that transfer, but its clip ends before the fingers withdraw from the tight pocket.

Did the sleeve stay seated when those fingers opened, Daniel? Even before withdrawal, that is worth seeing.

Anna's right. Don't reject the dedicated tray just because it adds labour if the other proposal hasn't shown it can finish the placement.

We can't tell from that angle. I've asked for the complete pocket placement and withdrawal, and asked our assembler to price the extra tray transfer for the other option. Thanks, Will, I was about to make that exact leap.

Include an ordinary used tray in that request. A specially selected empty one may still flatter the tight-pocket proposal.

And price the dedicated trays themselves, including how many are tied up while assembly empties one. Free labour isn't the only disappearing line in these comparisons.
