Am I spending longer preparing bags than packing them?

The contents settled into a lump at one end. I had to spread them before putting each bag in the presentation pocket. The earlier flatter bags did not need that.

Then don't judge the whole idea by the awkward new bag, but don't count your fingers as a free accessory either; how much of the actual order mix still arrives flat enough?

The order mix matters more than one fast transfer. I would compare a complete ordinary order, including the clearing up afterwards.

Could the mixed orders stay manual while you finish evaluating the flat bags, or do they have to share the same packing bench?

I don't love sending every awkward bit back to a person and then advertising the easy remainder as a success. It might still help, but show the entire workload, including the person bouncing between the two.

Separate manual bench is still there, Luca. Felix, I agree about the bouncing. I'm the one doing it and it is annoying. I hadn't counted answering other people's bag questions as preparation time.

Felix, keeping difficult orders manual is not inherently a bad result. The question is whether it leaves the staff with a workable day, not whether every bag visits the robot.

I spoke to the packing lead. We are not adding the new bag shape. They want the flat-bag comparison finished, with all my preparation and interruptions included, before deciding what happens to that part.

That is a boundary I can understand. My objection was the invisible helper, not the separate bench. Do you get to stop inventing pockets for every sample sales brings in now?
