I'm comparing gripper pads for transferring finished collars between nests. The soft-pad sample looks better under one lamp, worse under another. Who should define the appearance check before we select a pad and assess holding and release?

Whoever accepts the finished collars. Softer pads don't settle either appearance or secure handling by themselves.
