Crooked housings and a growing collection of UR5e pickup edits

Our little polymer housings used to sit square in the jaws. Now each awkward tray earns another pickup edit. The tray looks stationary, which is a wonderfully cheap measurement. What should I ask maintenance to inspect before somebody decides the arm has lost its manners?

Does the housing tilt before closure, or only once the jaws hold it?

Only when held, from the footage I already have. I cannot see the far jaw contact in it.

Get that contact inspected. Another offset won't tell you what it's touching.

Maintenance found a loose contact insert during inspection. The intended assembly is being checked before restoration. We have kept the current program and previous edits.

Was the insert wrong, or the correct one loose? Different replacement questions.

Correct insert according to the tool drawing, loose in its mounting. I should have said that rather than leaving the part identity hanging.

Once it's restored, compare those edits against the proper tool setup. Otherwise you can repair the hardware and keep all the little compensations it inspired.

Who will check why it loosened? Refastening alone could buy you the same conversation again.

The toolmaker is reviewing the mounting and maintenance method. I do not have a cause yet. Pickup verification waits for the restored assembly and agreed program review.

Put that hold in the shift notes. Somebody will otherwise select the last working file.

Darcy, did they ever measure the tray location? The loose insert is a good find, but the tray still only has its excellent visual certificate.
