Our old inspection notes say it looks aligned while restrained, then falls outside the drawing requirement after release.
I want to untangle fit-up, fixture location and final inspection before our new cell inherits an unexplained correction routine.

@EllaChan1077 Compare the specified inspection condition and reference supports with the historical sheets. Do individual measurements identify whether the assembly was restrained or released?
The sheets mix clamped checks and released measurements. Some don't say which. The drawing has the dimension, but our procedure leaves the support condition vague
Ask quality and the design owner to establish the intended acceptance condition, then group historical results by their documented measurement state to support comparison.
@OmarAdams0143 Same restraint label still doesn't mean comparable. Unknown supports and mixed fixture or process revisions could remain inside those groups.
You're right; I overstated that. Grouping exposes one difference. Keep support conditions, fixture revision and process links visible too, including anything unknown.
Keep the revision unconfirmed in the data. A separate note can preserve the recollection as a lead without presenting it as an established fixture reference.
I had a separate bracket job where inferred fixture revisions created an apparent trend. Once the original sheets established the revisions, the trend no longer held.
The acceptance requirement may apply to the released assembly. A dimension maintained by fixture restraint doesn't establish what that dimension will be once the restraint is removed.
@OmarAdams0143 The drawing owner confirms released inspection on specified reference supports. Quality is putting that condition into the sheet. At least that part won't be guessed

Where sample links exist, pair incoming fit-up observations with the released measurements. That allows the welding engineer to assess associations in the context of the documented process.
The linked records show different fit-up conditions among assemblies that moved after release. It's a lead, but I can't tell whether fit-up caused the movement
Present that association with the limits of the available records. It can be worth the welding engineer's attention without being described as an established cause.
Additional restraint may alter distortion without establishing acceptable released dimensions. The fixture and welding specialists should jointly assess how restraint, thermal movement and release interact.
