I can't choose softer collar pads from these two photographs

Our UR5e collar trial has two pad candidates and two very confident opinions about the marks. The photographs use different lamps, and nobody recorded the collars before handling. I need a comparison quality will actually use, including whether the softer candidate holds and releases properly.

I'd start with the same viewing method. We argued over a mark for ages, then discovered we were each carrying the part to our favourite lamp.

Quality has now chosen the normal inspection station and kept accepted and rejected collar examples. We're checking identified collars before handling there; the old photographs are out of the comparison.

Include release. A prettier collar still stuck to the pad is not a win.

Anil, did the two candidates get tried with the same collar range? I wouldn't trust a comparison where the awkward sizes all went to one pad.

Yes, Zara, quality selected the same accepted range for both. The softer candidate left less visible contact marking, but two collars hung on during release. Tooling has stopped that candidate's trial to investigate the contact arrangement.

That gives tooling something definite to work on. Keep those two collars identified.
