our camera recipe lives on somebody's desktop

I asked a colleague to show a trainee where our FR10 housing inspection recipe comes from, and we ended up at a shortcut on the integrator's old desktop account; I would quite like this station to survive somebody changing jobs, so what should I ask for while he still answers the phone?

Ask where the shortcut points and which recipe the running application loads. The desktop location may only be a link. You need the actual files and their relationship to the robot program.

It points to a shared folder, which is a relief, except the folder has three files called final with extra words after them.

Have the integrator identify the loaded file from the application configuration. Do not choose by the newest modification date. That may be a copy or an abandoned edit.

Who can read that shared folder? Our trainee account could open the instruction sheet but not its linked files. Everything worked for the engineer

That's worth a look, Sarah, because we demonstrated it using his account and nobody tried the training login.

Get the files off that person's account arrangement. I wouldn't accept a handover where calling the old integrator is the usual way in.

The shared folder itself may be suitable. Its access and ownership need checking before moving anything; an unnecessary move could break paths that currently work.

Yes, our fix was the folder permission, not a new folder. IT did it. We had wasted time copying files to laptops first

Training login can read the folder, but the recipe path is saved separately in each user's application settings, so the trainee gets an empty field.

Integrator has identified recipe Housing_C3 and its matching robot export, and IT is helping us set up the training account; apparently the extra finals were his experiments, so those can stop starring in the handover.

Include that account-specific setting in the setup instructions. Has anyone checked where inspection results are saved under the training account as well?
