I'm pricing a small handling cell and keep getting a drawing, a robot layout and a very tidy demo video. What I cannot see is who records the little fixture changes once the project starts.
Is that normally the integrator, us, or whoever made the fixture? I do not want a useful adjustment living only in somebody's inbox.
Ask for one named owner in the handover. The drawing can point to the fixture, but somebody still needs authority to say which revision is the one people should build from.
I'd separate a change to the drawing from a setup note. If the integrator moves a hard stop during commissioning, who checks whether that changes the part position or just makes loading easier? That boundary is worth agreeing before anyone is under time pressure.
That makes sense. I was treating all changes as paperwork, but a changed stop is obviously part of the process. I will ask for the revision owner and the sign-off route in the quote.
One more thing for the handover: say how a known fixture revision is restored after a replacement or a controller recovery. A revision number without the location of the approved setup information can still leave the next person rebuilding it from memory.
