Our UR5e gusseted angle-bracket proposal has a final accepted dimension and a straightening entry. I found a separate released-failure sheet in the folder, but its part number is smudged. I want to establish the link before using it to explain the correction to the next shift.
Which bracket check belongs before the correction entry?

Look for a traveller or inspection entry that links both sheets to the same bracket. Folder location is useful for searching, not enough for joining the results.

The traveller names the final sheet only. The loose sheet has a batch reference but the individual part suffix is unreadable.

I'd also ask who filed it. Sometimes a sheet goes into the folder as an example of a different failure, which is a nasty surprise after you've built a before-and-after story.

Keep the uncertainty in the lesson while you search. Learners can still understand that the final accepted check followed recorded correction, without being given an invented first reading.

Handwritten originally, Jo. The person who filed it remembers collecting examples for a meeting, not filing by individual bracket. That makes the folder link weaker than I thought.

Yes. Does the final accepted sheet identify the feature, datum and drawing revision clearly enough to explain that check on its own?

It does. The loose sheet uses the same feature and revision, so it could be relevant to that batch, but we still cannot assign it to this bracket.

David's teaching point seems the useful one now. Explain what is known, and show exactly where the missing identity stops the comparison.

I've done that. The current traveller now carries the individual bracket identity on every check page. We couldn't recover the old link, so that failure sheet remains unassigned rather than becoming our example first reading.

That is worth showing the covering shift. The small repeated identifier may look like extra paperwork until they see what its absence cost you here.
