Supplier support access when the usual contact is on leave

Writing a handover for supplier diagnostics. I want access tied to an approved support case, with an expiry and someone responsible for closing it. Who owns that last check at your site when the person who opened the case is away? Interested in the handover, not recommendations for remote-access software.

I'd put the open support case on the shift handover, with a named cover person and when they're expected to check it. Not just the absent person's name. On evenings, a contact list isn't much help if nobody knows they're covering.

Cover for the case, yes. But who can actually close the access? I'd name that separately.

Yes, I meant somebody to follow the case through, not give an operator access rights. Two names on the handover then: who chases it, and who can close the connection. Plus a way to tell the first person it's actually been closed.

Does 'closed' mean the support case, the connection, or both? I'd want that plain on the handover.

The connection. The fault can remain open after a support session ends. I'd keep those statuses separate.

That's the distinction I'd want coming onto shift. Session ended, fault still awaiting an answer. Otherwise 'closed' sounds as though I can stop chasing it, when all that happened was the end of that call.
