The coated housings from our FR10 gripper bench trial have pale contact bands. The supplier suggests softer pads, but our inspectors disagree about which samples fail the appearance requirement. I would like an agreed comparison before choosing another pad material, including whether the tool still holds and releases properly. Where should that start?
Start with quality judging identified samples under an agreed viewing method, with their condition before handling recorded too. Then compare the pad options through holding, transfer and release. It is cheaper to settle what counts as an unacceptable mark now than commission another beautifully photographed argument.
