Can I judge this FR10 layout with half the door missing?

Our unloading sketch includes the blank and tool now, but shows the machine door only as a thin line. The real door has a deep inside handle. Am I right to send the drawing back?

Does that line represent the actual fully open position, or just where the drafter found room for it?

It's the nominal opening on the machine brochure. Nobody measured the handle or the door stop position in our bay

Measure the real opening before more arm comparisons, including the handle projection and anything that limits how far the door opens.

Our drawing had a lovely clear opening too. Then someone included the operator's access step and the convenient robot base position stopped being convenient. Ask whoever unloads this machine what has to stay accessible.

Leah, was moving the step possible, or was that part of the access arrangement?

It was fixed and used for ordinary access. We weren't going to make the operator climb round a robot to preserve somebody's first sketch.

Ada Archer, who's measuring the door in its actual stopped position?

Our maintenance fitter has done it. The handle projects into the proposed tool approach. Leah, our access platform is on the other side, but I added it to the drawing anyway

Could the approach be angled, if the fixture permits that, or does the blank have to leave straight until it clears its locating features?

Straight initially, Owen. There's a locating lip to clear. Rotating early to miss the handle would bring the blank into that lip

So a nice-looking angled reach line won't rescue this version. Is another base position being drawn?

Yes, farther along the front, and only as an alternative for checking. The first layout is rejected. The next drawing includes the whole door, tool, held blank and operator access, so we can actually compare it
