Will the FR10 carton tool need our packers to flatten every lid?

Our supplier pressed the carton lid flat before its vacuum demo, but ours leave packing slightly crowned.

We had a demo that quietly depended on somebody arranging the work first. Ask them to repeat with cartons straight from your packing process, and leave that pressing step visible if they still need it.

Is the crown accepted by your packaging team, Anil? You want the normal range in the trial, not an argument later about whether your samples were faulty.

Packaging accepts these cartons. The demo sample had the same board but different contents.

Different contents can change what supports the top. Send packed samples, with packaging deciding which ordinary variations need to be represented.

Who selected the first sample?

I sent an empty carton. That part was my mistake; packed samples are now being arranged.

Easy mistake. Make the seam and tape positions ordinary too. A packed sample beautifully retaped for the camera would waste the second trip.

Nina, I'd ask for the normal packing method rather than insist on one particular seam position; the permitted variation is what the tool has to handle.

Packed samples arrived with the supplier. Packaging included both ordinary tape positions and the accepted crown variation.

Are they demonstrating placement in your dispatch lane too?

Caleb's point matters. My separate panel proposal acquired a manual preparation job once we asked for the whole transfer. Get the arrival and departure shown as well as the lift.

Omar, yes, ordinary variation. I was worried about somebody preparing an especially neat replacement for the empty box.

Caleb, they have our lane mock-up. Luis, the trial request includes release and return, with preparation counted.

Thanks for checking the crown with packaging early. That should save a fairly pointless round of blaming your cartons.

Trial stopped on the more crowned cartons. Supplier proposes manual flattening and a separate second attempt area.

Who would cover both tasks? That's a substantially different packing job, especially if the same person still feeds the station.

Has packaging accepted flattening those packed cartons?

I'd price another handling concept before spending much on a second-attempt area. You're adding labour to make this particular tool look viable.

Packaging rejected the flattening step for these contents. We've stopped this tool trial and left the transfer manual.

Sensible place to stop. Has the supplier removed the original successful-trial wording from their proposal?
