On a borrowed-laptop check we saved the address and forgot which connection it used. Ask for the actual interface, route, documented service endpoint and software versions from both normal launchers. IT can compare the approved path instead of changing controller settings to accommodate a mystery laptop.
Cannot choose a fix from an FR5 ping that works sometimes

Did the other laptop complete the actual read, or only receive ping replies?
11 pointsActual identity read completed, Nathan. Saved output has the expected controller identity. Network notes only contain its address.
20 pointsRecover the working connection details if that laptop is still available; otherwise mark them missing and have IT establish the intended approved path. A legend about the laptop that worked is not much of a maintenance instruction.
10 pointsCheck the shortcut target too. An address in someone's notes doesn't establish which endpoint the failing application actually requests. I'd compare the launch configuration before deciding all of this lives in the network.
21 pointsZara's point fits beside the route comparison, not instead of it. Keep each observed difference separate until the real check explains which one matters.
17 pointsAnd keep ping and the application read as separate observations in the ticket. They're useful for different questions; the intermittent ping alone can't certify that the required service is reachable from the application.
22 pointsBoth shortcuts target the confirmed endpoint. Software versions match. IT found our laptop selecting a different network interface from the working machine.
4 pointsWho will write the usable connection note after IT resolves it? I'd like the person covering the workshop to find the approved arrangement without having to know which of these replies contained the useful detail.
6 pointsThe route difference is a useful lead. Ask IT to confirm the permitted service path on the intended interface, then repeat the documented read under the normal account. Don't stop at a new successful ping.
9 pointsAlso avoid preserving the borrowed laptop's setup as sacred merely because it worked. The supported workshop arrangement is the one IT and the maintainer need to leave behind.
11 pointsIT corrected the approved route on our laptop. Maintainer's read returns the expected identity now. Normal operator-account shortcut check still due.
23 pointsDoes that normal shortcut use the same configuration the maintainer just checked?
6 pointsWorth verifying from the launch itself. Same icon text fooled us once. You can record the actual target and configuration without asking the operator to troubleshoot any of it.
13 pointsSofia's handover question is still useful here. The completed note should say what was changed and which ordinary read confirmed it, not only list the preferred settings.
14 pointsNormal account and shortcut checked: expected identity returned through the corrected route. Maintainer owns the connection note, Sofia. Thanks, Aisha, for asking which interface actually carried the working check.
8 pointsThat closes the reported connection problem. Keep the failed-run details with the note too, so a future recurrence doesn't start with another guess about the controller.
