We have adjusted the pickup for our polymer housing several times and the grip still looks crooked. I don't mean the tray has visibly moved; it looks seated as usual. I want maintenance to check the physical setup before anyone adds another correction. Where should that check start?
Start with how the housing sits before the fingers close, then inspect the tray seating, locating contacts and tool condition under the appropriate isolation, because a familiar-looking tray can still be supported badly
The corner is already high before the grip closes. I watched the recording back instead of just watching the arm. Maintenance is checking the tray insert and its supports.
That gives maintenance a useful place to look, Vera, and keep the affected housing identified so a different sample doesn't quietly join the comparison
They found a sliver of packing material trapped under the insert. Removed and refitted by maintenance. The same housing now sits level, but the accumulated pickup corrections are still in the program.
Have the programmer review those corrections against the repaired setup before further use, rather than assuming the mechanical repair also made every compensating edit sensible
That review is underway. Thanks for getting me to look before the fingers closed, Jo; I had been describing the crooked grip as though it started in the tool.
Put the insert seating check into the changeover handover too, with something the operator can recognise, otherwise the next bit of trapped material gets introduced as a new robot fault
