the refurbished FR10 demonstration borrows its pendant

The seller's FR10 demonstration uses a pendant borrowed from another package while the one included in the sale is away for repair. They have been open about that, which I appreciate, but the advert still just says inspected. We want it for spacer tray unloading. What would you require before paying for collection, given that a successful demonstration would not even use the complete set we would receive? I'm interested in buying used, not in pretending the missing checks don't matter.

Have the seller identify the complete offered set and the repair status of its pendant. The borrowed demonstration can provide limited evidence, but acceptance of the supplied combination still needs defining.

What evidence will show the repaired pendant works with the offered package?

Ask what the inspection covered on the arm and controller independently of that missing pendant. Do not discard useful results, but have their scope and identities stated so the remaining checks are clear.

That is the distinction I needed. The seller has an arm/controller test sheet but no returned-pendant result. I have asked what they propose to repeat with the sale pendant fitted, plus the repair report and final contents list.

Is the pendant repair included in the asking price?

Anika, I'd also want to know what happens if the repair is not successful.

Yes, those are commercial questions to settle before collection. Technical inspection still needs to describe what was actually examined, even if the seller agrees to bear the repair cost.

Has a local maintainer looked at the offered configuration, Luca? Support for that set after purchase belongs in the comparison, especially if the repair history is already part of the sale.

The repair is included in the asking price, Anika. ThomasBell, no alternative agreed if it fails. Aaron, a local maintainer is reviewing the package details before deciding what assessment they can offer.

Keep collection conditional on the agreed complete-package checks.

And no borrowed pendant quietly becoming the supplied one without a revised item list.

That could be a valid alternative if explicitly proposed and assessed, Thomas. The problem would be treating a demonstration substitution as though it had already changed the purchase agreement.

Agreed. Name the change, then assess it.

Luca, has the pendant returned from repair yet? A repair booking and a finished repair would leave you at rather different points in deciding whether a visit is worthwhile.

Still away. Seller has proposed a final demonstration and inspection with the repaired unit, but cannot schedule it yet. We haven't booked collection. Thanks, ThomasBrooks; the existing test sheet is now clearly separated from the outstanding package check.

Does your spacer task need different tooling from anything included?

Yes, it needs a new tool and tray arrangement. Those are in our separate application estimate, not evidence the used package is ready for this job. Our maintainer has offered a condition visit once the complete set is available.

That visit should not have to guess which pendant is coming home with it.

Please post when the complete set is available. I would be interested in what the agreed assessment actually covers, not only whether the seller can reproduce the borrowed-pendant movement.

For the later handover, retain both the repair findings and the complete-set assessment. They answer different questions, and the person investigating the next pendant fault may need the former as much as the latter.
