Put the delivered labels and visible interface differences beside the confirmed drawing revision, then ask for an applicable assembly drawing and comparison of the actual mating and locating features. A suffix explanation could be perfectly true while leaving the bracket question unanswered. Keep any proposed adapter change separate from evidence that the original tooling fits as ordered.
