can these two tray demos support a shortlist?

The FR10 demo uses neatly separated spacers. The other candidate uses our delivery tray, with a few spacers leaning. Both clips look promising. What can we fairly compare before asking for another trial?

Compare what each actually demonstrated, but don't call the cycle times a robot comparison while one starts after somebody has sorted the tray

The tidy tray was prepared by the demonstrator. They haven't shown how it would be filled from our delivery trays. Asked for that work to be included.

I'd ask both to work from the same incoming condition, including how they handle those leaning spacers, not just give the second supplier a tidier tray too

Both have the same sample set and incoming-tray description now. We still need their proposals for preparation and changeover. No trial dates agreed.

Will the person who normally fills the bench be involved in that comparison? They'll know whether the proposed preparation is a quick task or somebody else's full-time favour
