I need to know what existed before machining, not merely what was shipped.

Keep the two measurement stages separate. The final dimensions may be valid acceptance evidence for the finished bracket without describing its released welded condition.

That is worth settling before judging the old results. I would also ask who owns the drawing requirement at each stage, so the handover explains what is being accepted.
Chloe, machining remains on the current approved route. The estimator omitted it from the proposed cycle comparison. I had also been calling it correction too freely; its purpose still needs the process owner's explanation.
Include the measurement supports when requesting the missing released checks. An unclamped bracket measured on an unspecified bench will add another uncertain comparison.
Process owner confirmed machining is intentional and has restored it to the comparison. Quality is defining the released measurement before the proposed fixture trial. We have corrected the estimate's interpretation, not demonstrated the new welding process.
Please return with the trial comparison when it is available. I would like to know whether the new fixture changes the work remaining for machining, not only whether the finished parts pass.
