Only the final requirement and a cycle figure from before the bench, which makes the proposed saving look rather less mysterious

Then reopen the layout assumption before everyone starts designing around the empty space. You can investigate whether the bench is needed without pretending the answer already exists

The fabricator calls it straighten and check, but the written route doesn't say what gets measured before he starts

Our packing route once hid a whole inspection under tidy up, so I'd ask him to walk through a normal example in words, including what makes him decide it needs correction rather than assuming everyone means the same operation.

Can quality identify the acceptance check he uses after correction, including the drawing revision?

Quality says released flange height to assembly revision D, current job is F; they are comparing the changes before copying any of those numbers

Keep the old fixture revision in that comparison too. The component drawing can change while the fixture is quietly altered at the bench

Found fixture revision B in the old job packet, plus an unnumbered sketch for an extra stop, so we don't yet know which actual arrangement produced the accepted parts

Can the old setter recognise the extra stop?

He's still here and recognised the sketch, says it was tried then removed because some brackets wouldn't seat; that's recollection, not a signed change record

Did he say which samples would not seat? A difference between component batches could be useful to investigate, even if his memory cannot establish the final fixture configuration.

He remembers a different gusset supply, no batch number, so I'm keeping that as a question for the incoming-part review rather than writing it down as the cause

Who owns the current-part review now, including the measurements before any correction?

I'd have the fabrication and quality people define it together. A fixture designer alone shouldn't be left to guess both what arrives and what counts as an acceptable released bracket

Fabrication lead is organising it with quality and the fixture designer; purchasing has marked the cycle estimate provisional and the bench space stays in the planning comparison for now
