We replayed our plate-inspection sequence and the PLC request vanished between application reads. Both authors suggest changing its duration. Neither note says who clears it or what acknowledges receipt. Can we settle that ordinary interface on paper before adjusting timings? The safety functions are engineered separately.

Yes. Give each ordinary signal one writer and a defined meaning, then walk request, receipt, completion and clearing in order. Include an unanswered request and a late reply while both authors are there. Otherwise you can agree a perfectly elegant normal sequence and leave the first interruption to whoever answers the phone.
