the fr10 spare adapter is always waiting for another order

Our fitted gripper adapter is present. The additional spare isn't. Seller says it can travel with our next order, but we don't have a next order. How do I get a standalone answer to an existing shortage?

Have they said the spare is available now, or only that they would include it if you bought something else?

Ask for standalone supply against the missing line, including the exact adapter reference. Don't let an additional purchase become the condition for discussing something already owed under your order.

No stock answer, Ada. I sent the standalone request with the agreed spare line. Reply offers a credit, smaller than the replacement quote our installer found.

Does the replacement quote include the complete spare assembly and delivery? Compare what actually reaches your cupboard, not two attractive item prices with different exclusions.

And ask maintenance whether waiting has a practical consequence for this job. Not trying to make the seller's shortage your fault. I just wouldn't argue over the credit while nobody knows what happens if the fitted adapter needs replacing.

Our spare enquiry once came back as a bare plate quote, with the locating pieces priced elsewhere. It wasn't a dishonest price, just a different spare from the one the maintainer expected. Nina's complete-assembly question is worth answering before accepting any credit.

Who is covering the maintenance contingency while purchasing compares the offers?

Nina and Rosa, complete identified assembly plus delivery is quoted. Daniel and Anika, maintenance has no substitute in stores; our supervisor owns the contingency. It is a reserve shortage, not missing fitted hardware preventing commissioning.

Then you can compare the credit calmly, but a quote still needs an availability answer before it becomes your replacement route

Has the installer confirmed stock at the quoted source?

David, agreed. I'd also send the documented price gap to the original seller and ask whether it will supply the spare or revise the credit. No reason to pretend the first offer settles the cost.

Replacement source confirms stock of the identified assembly. Seller has revised its credit offer to cover that delivered price. Purchasing is checking the details before agreeing the two linked transactions.

Make the linkage clear to stores too. Otherwise an expected original spare can stay on the incoming list after the credit, and later somebody counts two that were never both coming.

Has the credit actually been received or is it still an offer? That affects how you describe the original shortage, even if purchasing chooses to order the replacement meanwhile.

Credit received and checked by purchasing. Replacement ordered separately. Stores has one incoming spare, with the original supply line settled by the agreed credit. Nothing marked physically available yet.

Thanks for keeping the physical count honest. It's very easy for settled to turn into in stock as the email travels.

Replacement arrived. Maintenance checked its identity and complete contents; stores now has the spare. Both the financial settlement and the actual shortage are closed. Ada, the stock question saved another round of waiting on a hypothetical parcel.

That is a finished replacement route, then; keep those exact assembly details for the next spare enquiry
