Need a cheap first check on our blank-only FR5 layout

Considering an FR5 for rectangular polymer blank exchange. Sketch reaches the fixture, but no gripper body or open door shown. What can I usefully check before paying for a fuller layout?

I would first ask who supplied that sketch and which dimensions it claims to represent. If it is only a reach illustration, you may be trying to measure a drawing that was never intended to support measurements.

Supplier's presentation slide. No scale or revision, just an arm outline and the blank. Reckon I've been giving it too much credit.

Then the cheap check is probably an information check, not a ruler on the slide. Ask for the machine opening and intended door position, and a dimensioned loaded tool assembly (rear connections included). I cannot infer clearance from what you have.

Thanks, Jonas. Asked for those, with the source of each dimension. Marked the slide illustrative in our comparison so it won't get treated as an access check.

That seems fair. Once the dimensions arrive, the approach and return still need examining; a properly dimensioned final pose would be better information, but it would not finish the route review.
