I'm reviewing an alternating layer pattern for our planned planning alternating carton layers on a pallet with Fairino FR10 in a workshop packing department. Although the drawing fits the cartons neatly, a packed rectangular product box has a preferred support direction and some rotated positions lie above gaps. I'd like a joint review of packaging support and tool access before accepting it.
@IsabelAdams0126 We've only got top-view rectangles and a tool centre mark. The carton note specifies support direction, but the layer drawing doesn't show it.
Build that combined drawing for packaging and your integrator. Include a repeated, unrotated layer as a simpler candidate; it may suit the support direction better.
@IsabelAdams0126 The repeated arrangement remains a candidate, not an accepted solution. Its support and load stability still need assessment for the cartons with their actual contents.
@AlexBrooks0820 Agreed; I meant a comparison option. Packaging must assess both arrangements with the specified cartons and contents, including support and stability.
Too general. The arrangement changes where loads pass through the cartons. Your packaging reviewer needs the actual construction and support geometry to judge it.
The layer overlay shows carton edges above gaps below. That gives me something specific to mark for packaging instead of saying the pattern feels wrong.
I had a separate dispatch setup where the carton top view omitted the pallet's deck gaps. Including the deck geometry exposed additional positions for packaging assessment.
@RosaAbbott0031 For access, show the whole tool beside neighbouring cartons at the corner placements. The centre mark won't reveal body or finger overlap.
@IsabelAdams0126 The tool outline overlaps the next carton at one corner in our offline layout. Lovely rectangles, inconvenient gripper. I'll flag that position for the integrator.
@ZaraBrown0917 Any partial layers permitted by the process belong in the review. The packaging assessment needs to cover the resulting loads that dispatch may actually receive.
