UR5e vacuum offer tested before our normal tape was applied

I need the proposed vacuum arrangement assessed on our finished packed cartons. The supplier's sample had neither the normal tape overlap nor the printed surface beneath the proposed pickup. A successful untaped sample does not answer whether our current packing method can remain unchanged.

Can they run the complete sequence with ordinary packed cases, including those pickup surfaces?

They tested the ordinary cases. Tape overlap caused unreliable sealing at the proposed position. Supplier suggests turning each carton before pickup, then restoring its label orientation at the receiving bench.

Then the demonstration has acquired two manual turns, and I'd ask your packers to compare that work with the current job before anyone calls the revised arrangement equivalent.

Did they assess holding and release in the turned position too?

Yes, the full turned sequence passed the representative handling check. Our packers found the two extra turns awkward around labelling, so we have costed them as actual work rather than assumed spare seconds.

Useful distinction, Mina, and the people doing the two turns should have a say in whether that remaining benefit is worth adopting, not just supply timings for someone else's decision.

Has the revised cost left enough benefit to continue?
