How did a bright screenshot become our UR5e scratch reference?

Our faceplate planning images label moving bright streaks as scratches. Before threshold tuning, how should I separate actual surface decisions from what the saved pictures appear to show?

Can you link each image to a retained faceplate and the original capture? I would establish those two links before treating a cropped screenshot's brightness as a physical feature or a reliable imaging baseline.

The screenshots carry two faceplate numbers. We can locate one plate now; the other is not yet found. I haven't recovered the original captures, only the presentation slides.

Keep the missing links explicit. A numbered caption is not proof the physical plate or original image is available.

I'd separate the reference repair from the lighting question. My current faceplate enquiry has arrows that do not even agree about the physical side. A tidy image set can still carry a wrong relationship, so I want those links established before anyone tunes around it.

That's the status here too: one locatable plate, two confident captions, no quality decisions attached. The slide author is looking for the source files.

Do the slides preserve the original display settings, or could the same capture have been shown with different contrast? That would affect image comparison, though it would not decide whether a real defect exists.

The source file for the located plate is recovered. The slide screenshot used an adjusted display contrast; its band looks much stronger than in the saved capture. We have retained both versions with that distinction.

Useful finding, but I wouldn't let the weaker original band become evidence of an acceptable surface either. Quality still has the physical question, and the original settings only tell vision what was actually captured.

Have quality judge the located region under the appearance requirement. Keep the missing second plate outside the confirmed reference set.

Quality accepted the located faceplate and identified the band region as normal finish. The second plate remains missing, so its caption stays unresolved. We now have one accepted reference, not a demonstrated reject example.

That accepted band is useful. It cannot show whether the camera would reveal a required scratch.

Keep the source capture's known settings and any missing presentation details with it. Then define a controlled comparison with quality-selected defects; do not retrofit guessed settings to the unresolved slide merely to make the folder symmetrical.

Thanks, Anil. Recovering the source exposed a real display difference. I've corrected that slide's status and kept the missing reference separate; threshold work remains paused until the defect evidence exists.
