I'm preparing FR5 inspection examples and found the same faceplate printed twice, once as good and once as scratched. The second print has a broad bright streak across it. The physical plate is still here, thankfully. I want to sort this before the trainer gives people two opposite answers with equal confidence.
Have quality judge that physical plate and identify it on both prints. Then find out what changed between the captures. Otherwise the next printout will just become the third opinion.
Quality found a small acceptable rub beside a screw hole. They could not find the broad streak on the plate. The photos came from different presentation trials, but the light settings weren't saved.
Then take those prints out of the teaching examples while keeping them with the investigation. Nobody should be learning the camera's trial history as a defect standard.
Quality owns the master set. I own the training copies, so I have collected both contradictory prints rather than leaving them near the cell with a verbal warning.
The fixed-light comparison still shows a changing stripe after reseating. Fixture seating is now being reviewed. Thanks Beth; changing one thing at a time made that much easier to see.
