Keep the correction as recorded work until fabrication explains it. Reusing a fixture does not imply the old correction is suitable for the proposed process.

Toolroom found additional packing beneath one locating block, absent from the archived drawing. We retained the as-found photographs and dimensions. No record yet says when it was added, so it cannot explain a particular historical bracket result just because it is there now.

That is exactly why I'd want the as-found record. Somebody can tidy away an undocumented packing piece with good intentions and leave you unable to describe the fixture you originally proposed reusing. It still needs a tooling decision; I don't mean preserve every old improvisation as sacred.

Isla, yes, and Jo has kept the timing uncertainty visible, which stops the packing turning into a convenient explanation for all the old released failures before anyone links it to those jobs

What did the correction enquiry recover, Jo? The contact finding is useful, but it is a separate question from how those brackets eventually met acceptance.

Fabrication recovered the straightening work instruction used for that bracket family, but not individual records proving which assemblies followed it. We can describe the possible route, not its frequency or effectiveness on the old batch. The reused-fixture option now includes a defined contact assessment and restoration scope before costing proceeds.

Then keep the stored configuration, proposed restored configuration and historic unknowns separate in the tooling register. One fixture number is not enough for those three meanings.
