What support must our FR5 component cases retain across alternating rows?

The alternating layout rotates component cases over gaps in their preferred support direction. I want packaging and tooling reviewing one arrangement before acceptance. What should define the required bearing and the tool's available release space?

Include permitted partial orders. Does dispatch normally finish those by hand?

Yes, dispatch finishes short orders manually. The drawing only shows full layers. I have added partial arrangements and that finishing task to the joint review scope.

Ask packaging to mark the filled case's required bearing regions on each actual supporting layer and deck. Then show complete tool placement and departure with the neighbours already present. Without those regions, tooling would be guessing which gaps it can close to improve access or support.

Our packing lead had to put the filled case in front of the reviewers before the support question made sense, because the empty carton drawing said almost nothing about where its internal pack put the load; yours should be identified as part of that overlay too

Packaging has assessed the identified pack and rejected the rotated row for missing end support. It proposes straight rows with fewer cases. The integrator is comparing that complete candidate, including the permitted short orders.

Price the extra pallet changes too. Lower count can affect the person finishing those orders.

And retain packaging's stack and dispatch-handling requirements with the support result. Straight rows need their own complete load assessment; their adequate bearing alone would not establish the finished pallet's suitability.

The defined straight-row arrangement passed packaging's load assessment and the agreed physical tool placement and release checks, including partial loads. Dispatch included extra pallet changes and accepted the resulting work estimate. That identified pack, pallet and pattern are approved; the original rotated row is not available for use.

Useful result. Keep the partial-order instructions with that pattern, not only the full-pallet picture.
