The seller has provided the actual FR10, controller and pendant identities for our block-unloading proposal. That clears one question. The inspection sheet still says only cleaned, checked and demonstrated. I need to decide whether a paid independent inspection is worth arranging before collection.
I cannot price this refurbished FR10 without knowing what the repair covered

They say it came from a discontinued production job. Replaced external cable and cosmetic cleaning are listed. No reason for the cable replacement or detailed test findings yet.

Ask for the replaced cable's identity and the reason it was replaced, alongside the actual checks afterwards. I would not infer a serious fault from replacement alone, but it should be part of the inspection scope.

Get the independent inspector to price a defined review of that supplied combination and the available history. Collection is a later decision. I cannot tell from the listing whether it is a good buy, but you can price the next information-gathering step without committing to transport.

Support availability belongs in your budget as well. A cheaper arm can still be a difficult teaching or production resource if nobody nearby will assess it when it stops.

Kim: inspection access agreed. Anil: detailed post-repair report arrived and identifies a damaged external cable, replacement and checks performed. Independent inspector has reviewed it and quoted the remaining examination. Support and transport are priced separately.

We commissioned it. Inspector found a worn external connector retaining feature that the seller's report had not covered. Seller agreed to replace the affected assembly and have that work rechecked before sale.

Recheck completed and documented against the same package identities. We have chosen the unit at the agreed revised total, including the inspection cost. Collection is booked; integration of our unloading job remains separate work.

Thank you for posting the cost decision as well as the fault. It is useful to see an inspection lead to a specific repair and a purchase, rather than only a yes-or-no verdict on an advert.
