The refurbished UR5e price leaves enough room in our budget to be tempting. Seller says inspected, but the attached sheet is a photograph of a tick and a serial label. Before I pay to collect it for our housing-transfer proposal, what would make that word useful?
Ask for the inspection scope tied to that assembly: what was checked, results, known faults and included items. A tick without its check tells you very little
They have now sent a short report. Visual inspection, power-up and an unloaded demonstration. No tooling included. The photograph I liked showed a gripper that belongs to their test stand
Price the missing tool and integration work before comparing that offer with a complete handling package; the bare arm may still be worth buying, but the attractive photo has already spent money your quote does not include.
Daniel, they will allow an independent pre-collection inspection, but they are not offering tooling or application support. Oscar, our integrator's preliminary scope makes this a much bigger purchase than the listing price suggested
Who would diagnose problems after installation? An independent condition inspection is useful, but it does not supply the support arrangement your inherited cell will need
That's the uncomfortable part. Our maintainer can do routine checks, but integration faults would mean booking outside help. I had mentally assigned that to the seller because the listing said refurbished. They never offered it
Then compare the actual support cost and availability, not the support you hoped came with the sticker. Does the integrator offer a defined handover and fault-support arrangement?
Yes, at a cost our current budget doesn't cover once tooling is included. We've declined this one without paying for collection. Thanks, Oscar, asking for a complete price took the excitement out of the right number
That is a fair buying decision; it leaves the seller's limited inspection as stated, without either pretending the machine is defective or pretending your housing job comes free with it.
