I cannot price FR10 bush loading from exposed length alone

Our hand-loaded steel bush samples have different exposed lengths, but the FR10 proposal sheet records neither total blank length nor the contacting end. I want a paired comparison before we budget a loading correction.

Keep each bush identified and measure its total length alongside the existing exposed reading, with the setter checking the actual stop contact before anyone assumes the difference is loading error.

Retained bushes match the readings. Two stock batches have different total lengths, but one bush in the longer group also gives inconsistent exposure when reseated.

What is different at that bush's contact end? The batch length difference would not explain the same piece seating differently on repeat.

Keep the two stock references on the revised sheet. Stores can help distinguish them at issue, but the setter still needs the intended end and contact check clearly described.

Setter found a raised edge on that bush's contact end. Quality is assessing it; the rest of both groups repeat consistently in the same setup.

Let quality settle the affected bush's disposition, and keep its inconsistent readings separate from the ordinary length difference between the two stock batches.

Does the exposed-length difference for the other bushes track their measured total lengths? That is worth answering explicitly before the estimate is revised.

Yes. For the repeatable bushes, the two length groups account for the corresponding exposure difference. Quality rejected the raised edge on the inconsistent bush and held it separately.

Loading designer has the paired readings and stock references. No automatic loading authorised; we've removed the assumption that all the observed spread needs a robot correction.

Have the setter and stores agreed how the contact-end check appears on issue and preparation instructions? The useful comparison should survive after these numbered samples go back into their bags.
