I'm leaving the delivered gripper uninstalled because its fingers don't match the UR5e sample trial we bought against. Seller says equivalent. Different contact shape, different length. Maybe they work, but somebody needs to show me.
Last time I chased a leaning housing it turned out the part itself had flash on the seating edge, so I'm trying not to leap straight to bad gripper this time. What should I ask for beyond another assurance that their new bits are just as good?
Ask for the supplied finger drawing and a comparison with the agreed one, then a sample trial using the delivered combination. The longer fingers also need checking against the planned load and movement, not only whether they can hold a housing.
Got the drawing. Seller admits it's a different finger set and says the original is unavailable. Would have been nice to hear that before the crate arrived.
Have your technical reviewer assess the proposed replacement against the job requirements. And ask purchasing to resolve the substitution itself; a successful sample pick alone would not settle what you ordered or who pays for changes.
Review found the longer fingers need more room at our nest. Seller has offered a video, but it uses their open tray, not our nest. We're going round again.
That matters to the handover and spare supply too. If this is the only set they can support, the whole accepted tooling arrangement needs to be clear to the people who will maintain it.
Only the substitute. I've sent the nest drawing with the clash marked and asked for a workable proposal. Tool is still on the bench, no acceptance from us.
Keep the drawing and that response with the purchasing case. Whoever deals with the next message will need to see why the open-tray video did not answer your access question.
