What result would justify stopping my FR5 pouch presentation work?

I can make the FR5 transfer a prepared pouch reliably in our trial. Getting each new pouch ready is the bit I keep rescuing, and I have stopped including those little interventions when I describe progress. That is not a useful habit. The code is the part I enjoy. The packer gets the guide changes, the half-finished orders and my promise that the next version will be less awkward. Before I build another presentation fixture, what comparison would let us decide honestly whether this job deserves more development?

Who does all that preparation when you aren't there?

The packer, except she calls me when the pouch won't settle; my attendance is still part of the working method, even though the proposal gives me no time on it.

What is the current manual method for the same full order? You need that beside the trial, including the end and changeover, before deciding whether another fixture buys anything useful.

She fills the tray directly from the incoming pouches, with no presentation guide; we've agreed to compare that complete order with the trial, counting my interventions instead of treating them as development time outside the result.

Include her ability to recover an ordinary awkward pouch and move to the next product, because a technically completed transfer can still leave her dependent on you for the parts of the job that determine whether the arrangement is usable.

Agree the stopping decision before seeing which result flatters the trial.

Could one stable pouch family be worth keeping, without sorting every order by hand?

Gabriel, possibly. But Jonas should price how those orders are separated. A restricted task doesn't help if the packer spends its saving deciding which pouches qualify.

There is one separately ordered family, so we included that as a restricted option; the full mixed order took more staff time in the trial, largely from preparation and calling me over, not the transfer itself.

And the restricted option?

Its transfer is simpler, but changing the guide and returning the bench for other work still consumed the apparent saving on our actual order size; the packer finished the manual comparison without my help.

Then document that measured comparison with its scope before another larger imagined order rescues the estimate; a future workload might change the decision, but the present job is the one asking for staff time and another fixture now.

We have decided to stop this development and retain the manual pouch-to-tray job; I have cancelled the request for another guide, with the packer's comparison and the restricted-family result attached.

Does the planner know that is the decision, not a pause while you improve it privately? The packer needs her actual method reflected in the workload.

Yes, the planner has removed the proposed saving and uses the existing method; no private rescue version underway, which is more of a relief than I expected.

Thanks for reporting the restricted option too. That was the bit I was wondering about.

Useful finished trial, even without a new production job.
