Our bracket correction note belongs to a retired component

Then keep the uncertain batches out of any claimed current-process average. You can still show them as history, with the missing link stated.

Keep the old fixture available while you compare. We found an unexpected rib on a replacement tray recently; the drawing discussion only became useful when somebody checked the real contact. Different job, same value in having the awkward bit in front of you.

Does the new proposal still use those old stop positions?

Yes, copied from the original fixture drawing. Designer has been asked to check them against the current gusset before freezing that layout

That is worth checking regardless of the old correction rate. Don't let the missing history distract everyone from a current drawing assumption you can actually examine.

Leah's question also gives you something concrete for the former fabricator. Ask where the old gusset met the fixture and what they adjusted, rather than whether the old design was good.

Fabricator showed a fit-up aid at that root. It isn't on the fixture drawing. We've photographed it and asked quality to explain the released check separately
