Our two connector-housing nests use the same removable handle. The proposed identity label is on that handle. Brilliant, except we swap it between nests. For the FR10 inspection setup I need identity tied to the actual insert, plus a way to catch reversal. What can we settle with the physical pieces before buying readers?

Lay out both inserts and their bases with the tooling designer. Find out which wrong combinations can actually seat, including a reversed insert. A label on your shared handle will travel very efficiently to the wrong nest. I would settle the mechanical distinction first. Then ask controls how the fitted insert and its orientation will be checked against the selected job, and what happens if it is removed after that check. You can discuss those cases with the pieces on a bench. You do not need to buy a reader to discover that its proposed label identifies the wrong object.
