Crooked housings after repeated point edits

Saved them. Tray has a corner locator and a spring catch. Nobody has checked the catch since the first teaching change.
12 pointsI'd start there. We once kept checking a tray against its locator while holding it against the locator with the measuring hand. It looked wonderful. Let go and the gap came back.
13 pointsCatch holds the tray down but there's sideways play. Maintenance is measuring it against the fixture drawing. Haven't found movement at the tool mount.
16 pointsCheck the fingers as well. You may have a tray problem and a gripping problem together.
15 pointsAny replacement parts already ordered? Worth pausing a speculative gripper purchase while this is checked.
10 pointsNo purchase raised. Someone suggested a new gripper; that's all.
6 pointsThe permitted tray movement needs to come from the fixture design; I cannot say from the description whether the movement you found is excessive.
10 pointsDrawing calls for location against both faces. Worn catch isn't holding the tray there. Toolmaker also found uneven wear on one finger insert.
15 pointsTwo jobs, then. I wouldn't spend ages trying to crown one the winner while the other stays worn. Photograph both for the handover so the next person knows what you actually found.
14 pointsRepair both, yes. But keep the checks separate. Otherwise you won't know what to look for when one wears again.
1 pointsAsk the tooling designer to include the replacement inserts and tray catch in the setup review, since the accumulated pickup edits may no longer suit the repaired arrangement.
23 pointsCatch replaced, inserts pending. Toolmaker checked tray location afterwards and it matches the drawing now. No handling trial yet.
21 pointsThat's useful progress. Has somebody taken ownership of the point edits, or are those still going to be everyone's favourite version?
11 pointsOur integrator owns that review. Thanks for the measuring-hand story, Jamie. It got us to check the tray without helping it sit nicely.
11 pointsDid the inserts turn up, or is that now the hold-up?
