Would you arrange an independent inspection here? (parts tray loading)

I'm considering a refurbished Fairino FR10 for parts tray loading with a machined polymer puck in a supervised handling workshop because the price is attractive. Although the listing describes it as inspected, I haven't been shown what that covered. I'd like to establish which checks and records matter before I spend money on collection.

@RebeccaBrown0952 What has the seller actually supplied: a condition report, replacement list, or just the listing? Those answer different questions.

@TheoArcher0410 A replacement list. Nothing about the assemblies they left alone. Better than nothing, but 'inspected' is doing a lot of work here.

Ask for a report tied to this unit and an itemised package list. Make purchase conditional on a qualified condition assessment and a representative demonstration.

Sorry, basic question: doesn't refurbished mean they checked the whole thing? I'm not sure what the label promises.

@LuisAbbott0086 You need the underlying scope to know what the description means here. Request the checks performed, their results and anything excluded for this particular unit.

@TheoArcher0410 On my own used-arm purchase, the inventory caught a required cable missing from the bundle. Easy to price, annoyingly easy to overlook

The seller describes this bundle as a complete system without much detail. Would photographs of the individual items help establish what I'm actually being offered?

Photos helped with mine, alongside an itemised list. Have them identify the controller, pendant, cables and included software access rather than relying on the group photo

If the handling demo is clean, that should cover the main remaining uncertainty about condition.

@TheoArcher0410 Too much weight on a short demo. It can show a working task without telling you the condition of untouched assemblies.

Yes, I oversold it. The demo supports application suitability in that setup; it doesn't replace the qualified condition assessment you still need.

@TheoArcher0410 I visited and saw normal movement and a successful transfer. We didn't see a backup restored, though. I'm keeping that blank on my checklist.

The available information hasn't established the unit's condition or the full package. I can't justify a collection commitment from the listing's inspection description alone.

@RebeccaBrown0952 Fair enough. The inspection label hasn't supplied the missing condition and package information.
