Which side should clear my FR5 job request?

I have an FR5 bracket-inspection interface where the PLC author says the application clears the ordinary job request and the application author says the PLC clears it after a timed pulse, so how do I get an agreement we can commission rather than another email explaining why the other person is wrong?

Get them to walk one request through together, with one writer for each signal and an explicit acknowledgement before the sender clears its request. The timed pulse sounds like a workaround for the missing agreement. Keep this separate from the engineered safety functions

They have agreed the PLC owns the request now, but the application author wants accepted and inspection complete to share an acknowledgement, which leaves the operator unable to tell whether the bracket has been inspected

Then you've got another meaning to settle. Accepted should tell you it took the job, not that the inspection finished. Ask what stays visible if the application accepts and then stops responding before it has a result
